Detroit Young & Sons Acquired by Blue Team Restoration

DETROIT, Sept. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Bryan Meklir, CEO of Blue Team Restoration, a national restoration company with sales of $70 million has acquired Young & Sons Drying and Restoration, a Detroit company with sales of $3 million owned by CEO Robert Young. The acquisition became final in August for an undisclosed amount.

Meklir and Young are cousins, both born in Detroit and passionate about the city, ready to work together to help with the city's revival. Young is already working with the Bedrock Property Management team on special projects to help restore and protect the historic buildings in downtown Detroit.  

Blue Team Restoration is headquartered in Delray Beach, Florida with offices in Tampa Bay, Orlando and Jacksonville; Dallas and Houston, Texas; Atlanta, Georgia; Baltimore, Maryland and equipment distribution centers in North Carolina and Oklahoma. Meklir founded the company in 1995. He also owns BBMK, a contracting division. Meklir is a Michigan State graduate who was born in Detroit and loves it — and now he has fulfilled one of his dreams to become a part of the city's revival.  The Blue Team opened their Midwest operations hub in Livonia, Michigan in early 2015.

Young founded his company in 1997 and has 17 employees with offices in Detroit (Chrysler House) and Livonia. He started the company to honor his dad who passed away before Robert finished college.

In his new role, Young is Senior Account Executive of the Midwest Region. He has had a leading role in the restoration industry for over 20 years, working on national disaster teams in the Gulf of Mexico, the South Carolina coast and the East coast; leading flood teams in Chicago and fire renovations in Washington, DC. Robert is certified in water and fire restoration, mold remediation and has his builders license. His company is in the process of expanding space, focusing on Detroit and Ohio commercial real estate markets.
