Dezer Gymnastics Training Center Starts a New Era in South Florida
Two Former Elite Gymnasts and European Champions Are Building & Training Next Generation of Elite
NORTH MIAMI, Fla., Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- With the popularity of gymnastics in the United States continuing to grow (5.2 million participants age six and up currently), Dezer Gymnastics Training Center (DGTC), a new South Florida-based gymnastics club, is already on its way to developing the next generation of elite, skilled and champion gymnasts. Located at 14401 Northeast 19th Avenue in North Miami, Florida, DGTC features a top of the line facility on par with national training centers that is run by former Olympic gymnasts with physical education backgrounds and years of coaching and managing experience.
DGTC offers the following programs: Birthday Parties, Play With Me, Pre-School Program, Recreational, Advanced Classes, Tumbling & Trampoline, Back Handspring, Flipping, Camps and Home School. There are 100+ students in the various programs, 10 of which are part of one of DGTC's elite training teams. Recently, the DGTC competed at Level 1-5 Florida State Championships and finished in the top spots.
"In the past, students have had to travel across the country to train with the top gymnastics centers," said Aurelia Bentov, gym manager and a world-renowned gymnast and coach. "Now, students have a local South Florida option at DGTC, which features professional, qualified instruction in a safe, specialized and new Olympic-inspired facility."
Bentov, a former member of the Romanian National Olympic Team and European Champion, is managing DGTC along with Richard Maijs, a former elite gymnast representing the Dutch National Team, and a coach with three decades of experience.
The DGTC is not only run by former elite European Champion gymnasts, it is the largest facility in the area and is equipped with two floors, brand-new equipment and soon the largest foam pits in South Florida. The space is fully air conditioned, carpeted and cleaned and sterilized daily.
Classes offered include recreational, beginner and elite – all depending on the interest and skill level of each individual student. Additionally, various camp options (Winter, Summer, Yeshiva Week, Spring Week, and No School) are offered as well as Birthday Parties and adult gymnastics.

Bentov and Maijs have a three-part goal:
- Help students to develop, experience and improve body awareness, self-esteem, strength, flexibility and coordination.
- Focus on fun, promoting success and developing character and life skills in a safe and clean environment.
- Develop talented kids to compete and place well in state and regional championships – before making it on the national team.
