The survey polled a variety of members in the radiology community about their salaries, work hours, satisfaction and more. The data covers information from an assortment of work environments, with respondents weighing in from hospital settings, academic medical centers, private practices, outpatient imaging centers and more.
The survey offers a revealing look at radiology professionals' work/life balance and job satisfaction. Here are some of the highlights:
- Sixty-three percent of respondents work 41–75 hours a week; just over 3 percent work 76 or more hours.
- The mean salary for radiologists is about $355,000. More than half of radiologists are making more than $300,000 a year.
- Respondents scored an average of 2.97 on a scale of 1 to 5 on satisfaction with their salaries. More than 12 percent of respondents rated their satisfaction a 1.
- On average, respondents had a rating of 3.81 for job satisfaction. Twenty-seven percent of respondents rated their job satisfaction a 5.
