Diane Castelbuono Named Associate Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania
Former Philadelphia School District Administrator to Lead United Way's Education Agenda
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Diane Castelbuono has been named Associate Vice President of Community Impact at United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Castelbuono will lead United Way's strategic focus in education, which is to leverage the variety of talent and expertise across the public, private, philanthropic and nonprofit sectors to ensure that every child enters kindergarten ready to learn, graduates from high school ready for college and career, and is prepared for life-long success.
Prior to joining United Way, Castelbuono was Associate Superintendent for the School District of Philadelphia, where she led the district's school turnaround and charter school work. Castelbuono previously served for five years as the Commissioner/Deputy Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In this role, she was responsible for the oversight and support of all K-12 public and private schools in the Commonwealth, serving over 1.8 million students.

Castelbuono earned her undergraduate degree from Haverford College and a master's of business administration in nonprofit management from Eastern University. Castelbuono resides in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where her three children attend public school.
