WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) announced the launch of The Playbook: Implementing AI in Healthcare, the first comprehensive, evidence-based guide designed to help health systems adopt, scale, and optimize AI responsibly.
Developed with Google for Health as title sponsor and more than 30 partners across healthcare, technology, and policy, The Playbook provides the trusted roadmap needed to ensure artificial intelligence moves beyond failed pilots to deliver real-world impact.
The Playbook equips organizations to:
- Identify and solve the right problems with AI.
- Evaluate and implement AI responsibly.
- Scale solutions that improve patient outcomes and clinician experience, with equity and trust at the center.
"Seventy percent of health AI pilots fail, not because of technology, but because of people and process challenges," said Jennifer Goldsack, CEO of DiMe. "Without implementation, we waste a generational opportunity to make the system sustainable, and we fail to deliver at scale for every person our healthcare industry exists to serve."
The Playbook directly advances DiMe's Healthcare 2030 vision, ensuring that the enormous investment in health AI translates into durable value, better outcomes, and a sustainable system of care.
"Google is proud to partner with DiMe to deliver the first practical roadmap for AI in healthcare," said Pete Clardy, Senior Staff Clinical Specialist, Google for Health. "This Playbook offers the guidance health leaders need to move from experimentation to responsible adoption at scale."
Additional partners in the initiative include: Ada, AdvaMed, AITRICS, American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Cardiology, American College of Radiology, American Nurses Association, ANDHealth, Artium, Cedars-Sinai, CHAI, CMSS, Consumer Technology Association, Council of Medical Specialty Societies, Curai Health, Dandelion, Deloitte, EIT, Gesund.ai, Intel, Intelligent Product Solutions, Jazz Pharma, Kaiser Permanente, Komodo Health, openNotes – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Rock Health, SandwYch, Stanford University, University of Michigan Frankel Cardiovascular Center Innovation Program, UCB Biopharma, UPMC Enterprises, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs,.
The Playbook builds on DiMe's proven expertise in developing signature Playbooks for digital measurement, pediatric digital medicine, and digital health implementation in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. It complements free, open-access training courses sponsored by the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation to help low-resource health systems adopt AI responsibly.
