Direct Energy Launches First Free Day Postpaid Product For Its Texas Brands To Help Customers Save Money and Electricity

HOUSTON, Nov. 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Direct Energy today again brings innovation to the retail electric marketplace providing more customer choice and low prices as the company launches its Free Power Saturdays product across its Direct Energy, CPL Retail Energy, First Choice Power, and WTU Retail Energy brands in the Texas ERCOT market. Free Power Saturdays is Direct Energy's first postpaid product that allows consumers to alter their electricity consumption patterns so they can save more during their free day in Texas.

As part of the plan, Direct Energy will provide its customers with email communications to remind them to take advantage of their Free Power Saturday.

Free Power Saturdays will be available to residential customers in the competitive areas of the state including Oncor, Centerpoint, TNMP, and AEP. The product is offered as a 12-month or 24-month plan and allows customers to reduce their energy use during the week when it is most needed especially during the summer.
