Direct Federal Credit Union Contributes $10,000 to the Three Squares New England 4th Annual Ride for Food
NEEDHAM, Mass., June 10, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Direct Federal Credit Union is proud to announce for the second year in a row they are sponsoring the Three Squares New England 4th Annual Ride for Food. This year, Direct Federal will donate $10,000 to the Ride for Food as the event's lead sponsor. The goal of the ride is to provide nourishing food that local families need now to lead healthier, less stressful lives. The ride benefits local food pantries and hunger initiatives in Cambridge, Dedham, Jamaica Plain, Natick, Needham, Wellesley and Westwood. Recognizing that hunger is widespread throughout the surrounding community, Three Squares New England organized its first Ride for Food in 2012.

In the Ride for Food's inaugural year, 65 riders raised approximately $35,000 for the Dedham Food Pantry. The 2nd annual Ride raised over $123,000 to support hunger initiatives and on average returned 111% of every dollar raised by partner hunger relief organizations.
