DISC Surgery Center at Carlsbad Announces Strategic Partnership with Sharp HealthCare

The alliance further expands North County San Diego's access to advanced, same-day outpatient spine and musculoskeletal care.

CARLSBAD, Calif., Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- DISC Surgery Center at Carlsbad ("DISC") is now partnered with Sharp HealthCare ("Sharp") and will be co-branded as Sharp DISC Surgery Center Carlsbad. This strategic alliance builds upon DISC's previous collaboration with Tri-City Medical Center – now Sharp Tri-City Medical Center – and will further expand North County San Diego's access to advanced outpatient spine and musculoskeletal care. As part of the updated agreement, Sharp is a strategic equity partner in the surgery center, combining strengths with DISC to optimize the use of advanced technology and appropriate sites of care, ensuring that patients receive the best care in the right setting. The two organizations will continue to work together on streamlining the entire patient journey, integrating services such as diagnostics, imaging, cardiac clearances, pre- and post-operative care, and rehabilitation.

With Sharp-affiliated physicians gaining access to DISC's state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center, a larger patient population will have access to high-quality outpatient surgical care in a convenient North County San Diego location. Among the advanced, same-day procedures performed at Sharp DISC Surgery Center Carlsbad are microdiscectomies, artificial disc replacement (ADR), endoscopic spine surgery, minimally invasive spinal fusion, knee, hip and shoulder arthroscopy and total joint replacement.
