Dogtopia Announces First Multi-Unit Franchisee In Springfield, Virginia

SPRINGFIELD, Va., Oct. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dogtopia, a leading national dog daycare and spa franchise, announced today its first multi-unit franchisee, Amber Sutton. Amber will be opening her second Dogtopia in Springfield, Va. to complement her successful Woodbridge, Va. location. This new development is part of Dogtopia's aggressive growth campaign to expand its brand to more than 400 locations across the U.S. and Canada over the next seven years. With services ranging from open play dog daycare and overnight boarding to spa services, Springfield residents will now have a place to take their pets to be pampered.

A grand opening celebration will take place at the Dogtopia Springfield located on 7401 Fullerton Road, Suite A on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy music, tours of the facility and delicious tacos from the food truck District Tacos. A photographer will also be on hand offering free photos of guests with their pets.

Sutton first discovered Dogtopia while helping a friend find a place to board her dog and was immediately impressed by the concept. After touring several locations, she decided it was the perfect business venture and in 2008 opened her first Dogtopia location in Woodbridge, Va. The success and demand was so great, she is now opening her second Dogtopia location in Springfield, becoming the company's first multi-unit franchisee.

Generally, 25-30 dogs play in each room and Dogtopia employs web camera technology in each room that allows the dogs' owners to check on their pets during playtime.
