NASHVILLE, Dec. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With the holidays right around the corner, country music legend Dolly Parton is determined to help save the life of one of her dearest friends. Dolly's long time attorney and close personal friend Jerry Edelstein is in need of a kidney, and she has stepped in to lend her support by recording a heartfelt video asking for help.
Edelstein, whose other iconic clients include Jon Bon Jovi, has been seeking a kidney for several years. As we enter 2016, his need has now become desperate. The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America and Public Good are hoping to raise money and awareness in order to find a donor with an O blood type, who could save Jerry's life. Dolly Parton's video plea to help save Jerry Edelstein this holiday season can be found at www.publicgood.com/FloodSisters.
The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America, a nonprofit based in New York City that helps people nationwide in need of a kidney donor, and Public Good, a benefit corporation with a free online platform for nonprofits, have partnered to help find kidney donors and raise money for the holidays for Jerry and other people in desperate need. The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America has created an online campaign for people to see how they can become involved in helping Jerry Edelstein, as well as a young New Jersey couple, Robert and Lori, with a newborn on the way and Lilt, a mother of two on dialysis from California.

ABOUT PUBLIC GOOD:
Public Good is a benefit corporation dedicated to revolutionizing how people engage with causes and charities online by making the experience simple, rewarding and empowering. The company was founded in 2013 by veterans of some of the biggest tech successes including Obama for America, Sittercity.com, Orbitz and Groupon. It's cause centric charity marketplace, PublicGood.com, launched locally in Chicago in September 2014 and nationally in July 2015 with over 1 million charities as members of its online platform.
ABOUT THE FLOOD SISTERS KIDNEY FOUNDATION OF AMERICA:
The Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America was started by three sisters from New York who were on a mission to save their father's life. They didn't want to see their father wait on a national list or have to be on dialysis. The foundation was started to educate people on alternative ways in finding a donor for kidney transplantation and bring awareness to our youth through educational seminars about donation. The focus of the foundation is centered on the idea of the "altruistic donor" or unrelated living donor and helping people obtain a living donor.
