SEATTLE and LAS VEGAS, Aug. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- PayneGroup today announced that CEO and founder Donna Payne has been recognized by the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) with a 2013 Distinguished Peer Award for outstanding achievements in the category for "Vendor Thought Leadership." The event took place on August 20th at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in conjunction with ILTA's annual conference.

Says Peggy Weschler, Program Director for the International Legal Technology Association, "When I think of thought leadership in the legal community, Donna Payne always comes to mind.  She has helped educate us throughout the years with books on software for legal, and inspires us when speaking at numerous events.  She is always on the cutting edge in innovation as evidenced by her recent focus on digital privacy.  She constantly looks for ways to provide value to our community, and being recognized by her peers with this award is well deserved!"

For over three decades, ILTA members have faced challenges in their law firms and law departments, and they've shared their struggles and their successes along the way. ILTA's Distinguished Peer Awards program honors the achievements of those ILTA members who are making technology work for the legal profession. The program recognizes those who have delivered great business value and transformational impact through their innovations and implementations or have been champions in specific areas of focus for their organizations.

Donna Payne is a well-known member of the ILTA community.  In the past year alone, Donna has conducted two multi-city roadshows coast-to-coast for ILTA members – one on digital privacy and the other on Microsoft Office 2013. She has spoken to members of Congress on the subject of metadata and accidental disclosures, as well to government, legal and security agencies worldwide.

"I am extremely honored to be one of the recipients of ILTA's Distinguished Peer Awards for 2013, and especially for the recognition as a thought leader," says Donna Payne, CEO of PayneGroup. "I am so grateful and humbled by the award and share this with the amazing team of people at PayneGroup whom I am lucky enough to work with on a daily basis."

"On behalf of ILTA, I'd like to congratulate this year's Distinguished Peer Award winners," said Randi Mayes, executive director of ILTA. "We are proud to recognize exceptional technology projects and the champions of those projects, and I applaud and celebrate our winners for sharing their successes."
