CEDAR KNOLLS, N.J., March 29, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Consumers have one month to head to the Eggland's Best website (www.egglandsbest.com/americasbestrecipe) to submit an original recipe showcasing how they combine the nation's best-selling egg with their favorite state ingredients from the state in which they currently reside.
"The creativity of the entries we have received thus far truly shows that a nutritious food like Eggland's Best eggs can be an integral part of any recipe, anytime of the day," said Charlie Lanktree, President and CEO of Eggland's Best. "Whether you have an appetizer that showcases the nutritional aspect of EB eggs or a dessert that highlights the better taste of EB eggs, we want to hear about it."
With four recipe categories—Breakfast/Brunch, Appetizer, Main Course, and Dessert— the flavor combinations are endless. The entry phase ends on April 29th and entries will be judged on criteria such as taste, creativity, and the inspiration behind the local recipe ingredients.
The highest scoring recipe in each state will be deemed "Best in State" and will be organized into five regions- Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, West. Then Eggland's Best will turn to America to help select the five "Best in Region" recipes. The recipes selected by America and a panel of EB judges as "Best in Region" will then be revealed on the Eggland's Best website for one final round of voting, where consumers will voice which recipe they feel deserves the title "America's Best Recipe!"
The Grand Prize winner will receive $10,000 and a year supply of Eggland's Best eggs. "Best in Region" winners will receive $1,000 and a year supply of Eggland's Best eggs and "Best in State" winners will receive an Eggland's Best prize pack which will include a month supply of Eggland's Best eggs.
Compared to ordinary eggs, Eggland's Best eggs stay fresher longer and have 25 percent less saturated fat, 10 times more vitamin E, and five times more vitamin D.
