Dots Doubles Promise to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®

GLENWILLOW, Ohio, Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dots, LLC announced today that it will donate $91,086 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® to help fund ground-breaking research and life-saving community outreach projects through the "Girlfriends Giving Back" partnership program.

Only in its second year, the Dots "Girlfriends Giving Back" program nearly quadrupled the 2010 donation pledge amount with the sale of three great items including a plush puppy with a signature Dots fragrance, graphic t-shirts and pink rhinestone rings.  Dots promised the organization a minimum of $20,000, however surpassed the goal by an additional $71,000. This was also the first year Dots sold merchandise online at www.dots.com, in addition to all Dots stores.

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, except for skin cancers. The chance of developing invasive breast cancer at some time in a woman's life is a little less than 1 in 8. About 207,090 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women in 2010, according to the American Cancer Society.
