Douglas Elliman Development Marketing Selected By China's Largest Real Estate Company To Exclusively Handle Sales And Marketing At Metropolis Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Douglas Elliman Development Marketing announces that it has been selected to exclusively handle sales and marketing for Metropolis Los Angeles, the highly anticipated $1 Billion dollar mixed-use project in Downtown Los Angeles. Developed by Greenland Group – China's largest real estate company – Metropolis Los Angeles is slated to be the largest-mixed-use development on the West Coast, and will reshape and redefine the character and skyline of Downtown Los Angeles. In its first major development project on the West Coast since recently announcing its new Beverly Hills location, Douglas Elliman Development Marketing will oversee sales and marketing during Phase I of the project. Architectural plans and renderings will be unveiled in a groundbreaking ceremony on February 14^th; construction is expected to be complete in 2016.

Phase one of Metropolis Los Angeles is to be designed by Gensler and plans currently consist of one high-rise hotel and one residential building, with phase two still in the development stage. All buildings are to feature high-end retail on the ground floor.

The Metropolis site comprises a full city block, strategically bordering the Harbor Freeway and situated between the Financial District to the north and the L.A. Live Hotel and Entertainment complex, including the Staples Center and the Los Angeles Convention Center, to the south.
