DQE Communications Welcomes New President And CEO James W. Morozzi
PITTSBURGH, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DQE Communications, the region's leading provider of data networking services for businesses, announced today that James W. Morozzi has been appointed the company's new president and CEO. Based out of DQE's corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh's SouthSide Works, Morozzi will oversee all of DQE's network operations, business development and sales efforts as the company continues its fast growth.

Since July 2011, DQE Communications – a subsidiary of Duquesne Light Holdings – has acquired Met-Net Communications, increased its employee base five-fold, and expanded its network further into to Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Indiana, Washington and Westmoreland counties. Network growth is up 28 percent over the last 18 months.

Previously, Morozzi was president & CEO and a director of D&E Communications, Inc., a publicly-traded provider of local, long distance, Internet access, data services, video and systems integration services based in Lancaster County, Pa. Previously, Morozzi led Exelon Communications, an operating division of Exelon Enterprises, which provided wireless and competitive local exchange carrier telecom services in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Morozzi's career has encompassed both the telecommunications and electric utility industries. His early career was in electric operations and engineering, corporate planning and development, and general management with PECO Energy Company, now part of Exelon Corporation.
Originally from Philadelphia, Morozzi holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Drexel University. Additionally, Morozzi completed the Columbia University Senior Executive Program. Morozzi and his family will soon be relocating to the Pittsburgh area.
