Dr. Robert M. Gates Joins Industry Leaders Slated to Address DUG Eagle Ford Conference

HOUSTON, July 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Robert M. Gates, 22nd Secretary of Defense, former CIA Director and Deputy National Security Adviser, will share his views on global energy security during the featured luncheon address Tuesday, October 11, at Hart Energy's 2nd annual DUG™ Eagle Ford Conference and Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas.

DUG (Developing Unconventional Gas) Eagle Ford takes place October 10-12 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.  This high-level event covers booming unconventional resource activity throughout southwest Texas' Eagle Ford region.  DUG Eagle Ford speakers include:

Dr. Gates joined the Central Intelligence Agency in 1966 and spent ~27 years with the agency, including nearly nine years at the National Security Council, The White House.  He was awarded the National Security Medal, Presidential Citizens Medal, National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal (twice), and the CIA's highest award, the Distinguished Intelligence Medal (three times). On his last day in office earlier this year, Secretary Gates was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian honor, by President Barack Obama.
