Dr. Ron Grabowski Named Director of Clinical Nutrition and Education for SpectraCell Laboratories
HOUSTON, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- SpectraCell Laboratories announced that the company has added Dr. Ron Grabowski, R.D., D.C. to its scientific staff as Director of Clinical Nutrition and Education. His primary role is to lecture on a national basis and consult with clients on the implementation of SpectraCell's micronutrient testing into their practice.
Dr. Grabowski is a long-time client of SpectraCell, using their micronutrient testing regularly in his own practice. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition, he was awarded his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1989. His dietitian experience includes tenure at some of the leading hospitals in the nation - The New York Hospital, Memorial Sloan-Kettering in New York City (affiliated with Cornell Medical Center), Memorial Care System and the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
An internationally recognized speaker, Dr. Grabowski will be hosting a 2010 Educational Webinar Series with SpectraCell that began in January. The series is designed to help clinicians incorporate SpectraCell's micronutrient testing into their own practices. Each month will focus on a specific condition and offer solid clinical advice and case study examples. The series entitled Nutritional Relationships in Disease: Clinical Applications and Case Studies is free to physicians and practitioners and is presented on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doctors and staff can sign up at www.spectracell.com.

Dr. Grabowski 's research interests include nutritional support of the athlete and the use of supplements in clinical practice for the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, fibromyalgia and gastrointestinal disorders. Professional athletes, including those of Olympic standing, seek his expertise in nutrition consultation.
"I've used SpectraCell's micronutrient test in my practice for over a decade. Nutritional deficiencies lie at the heart of so many conditions I see, and unless they are corrected, a patient never really resolves their health issues on a permanent level. In many cases, these patients have struggled for years with symptoms that disappear when their nutrient deficiencies are corrected," says Dr. Grabowski. "I'm thrilled to pass on my clinical experience in using this powerful tool."
About SpectraCell Laboratories – SpectraCell is a CLIA accredited laboratory that services healthcare providers nationwide by providing advanced diagnostics, including comprehensive micronutrient testing and the Lipoprotein Particle Profile™ (LPP™).
SpectraCell's micronutrient testing provides an innovative analysis of a patient's nutritional status. Unlike traditional serum, hair and urine tests, SpectraCell's tests measure how an individual's white blood cells function in specific nutritional environments. Consequently, the test results take into account individual variations in metabolism, absorption rates, age, genetics, prescription drug usage and other factors. Over 30 vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants can be evaluated.
SpectraCell's Lipoprotein Particle Profile™ is the most advanced lipoprotein testing available. Unlike traditional cholesterol tests, SpectraCell's LPP™ directly measures both the size (density) and number of several classes of lipoprotein particles, providing an accurate assessment of cardiovascular risk.
