Dr. Sarah Shulkind To Lead Milken Community Schools
LOS ANGELES, March 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- After an extensive search, the Board of Trustees of Milken Community Schools has announced the appointment of Dr. Sarah Shulkind as the incoming Head of School effective July 1, 2019.
Dr. Shulkind will join Milken Community Schools after a highly successful, seven-year tenure as the Head of School at Sinai Akiba Academy. Under Dr. Shulkind's leadership, Sinai Akiba grew its endowment fund substantially, and Dr. Shulkind was very successful in attracting gifts for both programs and capital projects. She also promoted several important educational initiatives. She greatly expanded their J-STEAM and early childhood programs and introduced design thinking as well as differentiation particularly focused on advanced learners.
Dr. Shulkind earned her undergraduate degree in English and History at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to earn an M.Ed. in Teaching and Curriculum from Harvard University, and the Ed.D. degree in the Educational Leadership Program from UCL.
