Dsparada Color Salon Offers Self-Image Care to Cancer Patients in Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C., March 2, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Dsparada Color Salon is proud to offer self-image care to cancer patients at the Duke Raleigh Cancer Center. Every month, stylists from local Dsparada Color Salon come to the Duke Raleigh Cancer Center Oncology boutique to meet with patients before and during their treatments. Prior to treatment, the stylists take time to educate each and every patient on what they can expect as they start to lose their hair. Not only can losing your hair take an emotional toll, but it can also be a physically painful experience.

Once the patients start losing their hair, the stylists offer support and compassion both physically and emotionally. They work with each and every patient one-on-one to help give them back some of their confidence, and they take to the time to listen to their fears and worries about their treatment as they fulfill their desires regarding their hair. While one patient may want their stylist to shave their head so they can "rock the bald," another patient may want assistance choosing and styling a wig from the Duke boutique. The stylists also help patients maintain their hair as long as possible, and they offer suggestions for hair loss that the patients may have never considered!
