DYMO/Mimio Expands Global Appeal with the Next Generation of MimioStudio™ Software

The enhanced software debuts today at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) annual conference in Philadelphia.

Now available in 31 languages, including Catalan, Basque, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Romanian, Slovakian and UK English, the software's expanded toolset offers more flexibility for teachers to develop engaging interactive lessons for students of all grade and skill levels.

A truly universal solution, MimioStudio 8 software is compatible with Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems for use in classrooms all over the world. MimioStudio 8 software seamlessly integrates with the MimioClassroom suite. Used with the MimioTeach™ interactive system, which converts any dry erase board into a fully-interactive whiteboard, or any combination of elements from the product suite — the MimioVote™ assessment system, MimioView™ document camera, MimioPad™ wireless tablet and MimioCapture™ ink recording system — teachers can create interactive lessons with easy-to-use technology.

New MimioStudio 8 software enhancements include:

Expanded MimioVote Question Customization – With the addition of universal questions, users can now provide images as answer choices, as well as offer "no-answer" options for opinion-based questions. Users also have the ability to print out self-paced tests without being connected to the system hardware.

Brush Pen Stylized Writing – With this additional brush pen option, teachers can draw Asian calligraphy and stylized writing. Strokes created with the brush pen have a thickness dependent on how quickly the pen is moved.

Enhanced Drawing Tools – The new shape recognition tool saves time by transforming freehand shapes, such as circles, ellipses, rectangles and squares, into perfect shapes that can be filled, resized and re-colored. An improved line tool lets students and teachers choose from solid, dashed and dotted lines for lessons.

Free-Form Screen Clipping Tool – Students and teachers can use the new screen clipping option to draw around any image and paste it into lessons.

Custom Color Tools – The customizable color palette and color picker tool allows teachers to create and save their own personal set of colors for reuse in all current and future content creations.

Optimized Toolbar and Keyboard Shortcuts – With the touch of a button, teachers and students can navigate, zoom in and pan information on the whiteboard. The enhanced toolbar includes easily recognized icons and promotes frequently used tools for simplified access.

MimioStudio users can also download MimioStudio-compatible lessons from the MimioConnect™ community website, an online forum where educators can share content and ideas with their peers, as well as participate in online training in a variety of languages. Since its launch less than two years ago, the MimioConnect community has already amassed more than 75,000 members worldwide and has more than 4,600 lessons available for use.
