CHICAGO, July 13, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Easter Seals Military Caregiving webinar series won Today's Caregiver magazine's 2015 Caregiver Friendly® award in the service category for its exceptional work with military caregivers.
The webinar series, supported by Newman's Own Foundation, offers military caregivers across all eras one-hour informative and skill-building sessions, with offerings both in English and in Spanish. The webinars offer practical tools, valuable resources, peer communities and approaches for managing day-to-day caregiving responsibilities. An estimated 5.5 million spouses, parents, siblings and friends are currently providing care to wounded, ill or injured military service members and veterans according to the Elizabeth Dole Foundation's groundbreaking research, "Hidden Heroes: America's Military Caregivers."
Through its webinar series, Easter Seals Dixon Center has already provided more than 1,300 military caregivers the training they need.
