Edgenet Update on WTS Paradigm Patent Infringement Lawsuit

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Edgenet® today provided commentary regarding its lawsuit against WTS Paradigm. Edgenet and WTS are locked in a legal battle over whether WTS has infringed Edgenet's intellectual property rights. The two companies dismissed their claims around three of Edgenet's patents. However, Edgenet is aggressively pursuing other claims in the case, including an additional patent claim, and the lawsuit is far from resolved.

Earlier this year, Edgenet sued WTS for patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, interference with contractual and business relationships, and procurement of breach of contract. The original lawsuit centered on two of Edgenet's patents for automated configuration systems and methods. The company later added two additional patents from its portfolio to its claim.

In today's agreement, Edgenet agreed to dismiss its claims with respect to certain of its patents. In return, WTS agreed to dismiss their claims against those same patents. However, Edgenet is continuing to pursue its claims against WTS on U.S. Patent 7,805,461, and additional issues that have come to light during the course of the litigation.
