Egyptian Media and Production City Goes Tapeless with Imagine Communications

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Aug. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Imagine Communications, a market leader of media software and video infrastructure solutions serving the global broadcast, multichannel video programming distributor and enterprise markets, today announced that Egyptian Media and Production City (EMPC) has selected Imagine Communications' Nexio AMP® video servers to update six of its studios. Replacing EMPC's existing bank of video tape recorders, the new installation is a key facet of the company's initiative to upgrade its studios to high definition, file-based operations.

EMPC has dozens of production studios and is a major hub for satellite channels in the region. Following the installation, each of the six modernized studios will have a dedicated Nexio AMP server with integrated storage, which will provide recording functionality as well as playback into EMPC's production environment.
