Elekta Raises $52,200 to Support Individuals with Cancer

BOSTON, Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elekta activities at the 54th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) raised a total of $52,200 for Facing Cancer Together (FCT), a greater-Boston area nonprofit organization that guides and empowers individuals through the challenges of cancer. FCT offers a range of services and professionally facilitated programs, including support groups, expressive arts programming and mind-body wellness groups. Massachusetts is ranked eighth in the U.S. for cancer incidence*.

The donation came from proceeds from ticket sales and a silent auction for Elekta's Charity Bash, held Saturday, October 27 at the Harvard Club of Boston, where more than 1,000 attendees enjoyed live music and dancing.
