EMC Unveils Documentum xCP xCelerator Challenge

LISBON, Portugal, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Momentum Europe 2010 -- EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today issued the Documentum® xCP xCelerator Challenge, a contest that calls on customers, partners and employees to build xCelerators for Documentum xCelerated Composition Platform.

Documentum xCP is a platform for intelligent case management solutions which unites business process management, enterprise content management, document and data capture, customer communications and records management technologies.  xCelerators are reusable assets that enable organizations to rapidly build and configure a Documentum xCP application.  Examples of xCelerators include sample applications, business process templates, activity templates, executable code and documentation that focuses on best practices when developing and deploying a Documentum xCP solution.  EMC provides a number of xCelerators as part of its continued enhancements to the Documentum xCP platform.

The challenge, which starts today, will offer a total of $50,000 in prizes for the following categories:

• Best Sample Application - $20,000 cash prize
• Best xCelerator Asset - $10,000 cash prize
• Best Employee Entry - $10,000 cash prize

A member from each winning team will also receive a free conference pass plus travel expenses to attend Momentum at EMC World 2011 where they will have the opportunity to present their winning submission.

Several finalists will be selected for each category.  Selection criteria are based on the completeness of functionality, quality of the documentation and code, demonstration of best practices and business value of the xCelerator.  Votes from the Documentum xCP community will be combined with scores from a panel of judges that includes analysts, industry experts and EMC executives.  Winners will be announced in March 2011.
