Enertech Global & Burton Community Capture 2025 IGSHPA Residential Innovation Award
GREENVILLE, Ill., March 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Enertech Global, a leading manufacturer of ground source (geothermal) heat pumps, has been awarded the 2025 Residential Innovation Award by the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA) for its work at Burton, a new intentional community designed to honor the lake by the same name. "This award recognizes Enertech's and Burton's purposeful commitment to sustainability and innovative town planning," said Jeff Hammond, Executive Director, IGSHPA.
Geothermal HVAC – The Logical Choice
Burton, situated along the pristine shores of Lake Burton in northeast Georgia, features over eighty residences, shops, restaurants, and a world-class spa – all heated and cooled with Enertech Global's HVAC equipment.
"Preserving the tranquility of the area was critical in our planning," said Bill Lynch, Master Developer. "Geothermal maintains a peaceful environment by eliminating the noise associated with outdoor equipment. This, in addition to lower energy costs, made geothermal the logical choice. The Enertech team took part in our decision from the very beginning," Lynch added.
The community is designed to harmonize with the beauty and vitality of its natural surroundings. "Nestled within a lake and mountain landscape, Burton is a unique destination, which makes geothermal a natural fit," said Lew Oliver, Co-Developer and Town Planner.
Tim Wright, Enertech's Chief Operating Officer, commented, "We are honored that the Burton team chose Enertech as a partner even before land clearing began. This development embodies our mission of revolutionizing the way homes and communities are heated and cooled."
