Nelson has joined the management team as a Principal to support the continued growth of the Firm's International Tax practice. Mr. Nelson will be based in Ryan's Minneapolis, Minnesota office and joins an International Tax management team in the United States, Canada, and Europe, leading the Firm's continued market penetration into more than 40 countries across the world. Mr. Nelson will provide global companies proven expertise and support in multiple international tax services, including foreign tax credit planning, transfer pricing, global tax optimization, cross-border restructuring, international mergers and acquisitions, international tax compliance, treaty interpretation, and permanent establishment.

Mr. Nelson has 20 years of international tax experience, managing issues across multiple industries for major multinational corporations. Prior to joining Ryan, he was a Global Director and Practice Leader of International Tax and Transfer Pricing Services for a global leader in professional finance and accounting business solutions. Mr. Nelson has also held executive management positions in international tax for several major accounting firms, as well as a Fortune 500 corporation in the agriculture industry. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Mr. Nelson is a frequent speaker and publisher of international tax articles and texts, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from the University of St. Thomas and also served in the United States Air Force.
