Erik Hansen Joins PwC as Partner in Risk Assurance Services Practice

HOUSTON, Nov. 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- PwC US today announced that Erik Hansen has joined the firm as a partner in the firm's Risk Assurance Services practice.  In his new role, Hansen will oversee PwC's Internal Audit Services for the greater Houston region, focusing on companies in the oil and gas industry sector.  Prior to joining PwC, Hansen served as partner with KPMG where he led several internal control engagements, assisting organizations in building risk profiles and risk-based audit plans.

PwC's Risk Assurance practice, comprised of 1,900 professionals, provides companies with significant technical expertise as well as deep industry knowledge across all industries. Hansen has served companies in the oil and gas industry on issues related to internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing solutions, Sarbanes-Oxley assistance services, as well as other risk and control-related services. He has also served as an instructor in several KPMG training programs designed to provide partners and managers with the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective in the marketplace. 

Hansen holds a Bachelor of Commerce, with Distinction, from the University of Calgary. He joined KPMG in Calgary, later transferring to Denver, CO.  He also held a position as an Internal Audit Director at the Walt Disney Company in California and then returned to public accounting and made partner at KPMG. Hansen is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Texas, as well as a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
