Everett Graphics Saves 50 Percent With On Demand Packaging From Packsize

SALT LAKE CITY, May 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Everett Graphics, an Oakland, Calif.-based manufacturer of folding cartons for many different retail products, has implemented On Demand Packaging™ and is reporting a savings of 50 percent, announced Packsize International LLC.

According to Everett Graphics Chief Financial Officer Mark Carlson, the just-in-time manufacturer has always right-sized their packaging, but has paid an exorbitant cost due to the large quantity of approximately 150 box sizes they would purchase to do so. "We would invariably end up with 'dangling participles," said Carlson. "Essentially the scraps of 20 to 30 boxes that remained would end up as leftover inventory. This is no longer the case since adopting the Packsize system."

When Carlson compares the newly installed Packsize EM7-25 On Demand Packaging™ system to his former solution, he projects his case cost savings at 50 percent, even when factoring in the labor and overhead costs to produce them. This is also before inventory write-off costs, which he estimates to be north of 7.5 percent.
