eVestment Highlights Investment Universes, Products, Trends Getting Most Attention from Institutional Investors, Consultants
ATLANTA, Feb. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Institutional investors and consultants in the United States and around the world appear to have a strong interest in equity investments. Eighteen of the top 20 institutional investment products reviewed on the eVestment database by United States based users in January were equity products, according to eVestment's new monthly Advantage Investment Viewership Report. When viewed globally, the top 20 most reviewed products in January were all equity products.
The Advantage Investment Viewership Report, generated through the eVestment Advantage solution, is based on tracking daily institutional investor and consultant reviews of investment universes and products on eVestment, the global leader in institutional investment data and analytics. The report looks at Global, United States, European and Asia-Pacific profile viewership activity.
eVestment Advantage data is updated daily and provides a look at how world events, economic news and other factors impact the universes and products institutional investors and their consultants are reviewing over any time period.
Some other highlights from the January 2017 lists include:
- Potentially reflecting interest among investors in real assets and infrastructure, with infrastructure specifically being a focus of the new United States presidential administration, there was an uptick among United States and European eVestment users in average reviews of the eVestment Liquid Real Assets universe, which is comprised of multi-asset strategies investing in real estate investment trusts, listed infrastructure, commodities and/or inflation linked bonds.
- The report highlights the ability of new products to gain attention from investors and consultants and highlights the importance of managers filling out product details in a timely manner. As an example, while many of the top most viewed products have been on the eVestment platform for years, one of the top viewed products in January 2017, GQG Partners LLC's GQG Emerging Markets Equity product, was added to eVestment in July 2016.
- On a relative basis, United States based clients did not focus on their own backyards as much as eVestment's Asia-Pacific and Europe-based clients. The No. 1 universe by average reviews per product for clients located in Asia-Pacific was Japan Enhanced Equity and for Europe the most viewed universe was U.K. All Cap Value Equity. Among eVestment's U.S.-based clients the first U.S.-focused universe appears at No. 12.
