Evolved Packet Core Revenues to Approach $3 Billion in 2016 According to Dell'Oro Group

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dell'Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the networking and telecommunications industries, announced today that the wireless packet core equipment market is forecast to more than double in size to reach almost $6 billion by 2016.  Evolved Packet Core, the emerging segment of this market, is forecast to expand half of the total market, driven by the Long Term Evolution (LTE) network capital spending.

The more mature Traditional Packet Core product revenues are expected to experience low single digits compounded annual growth rates between 2011 and 2016 as Evolved Packet Core devices become the more prevalent system deployed.  The report shows that the PCRF market is forecast to reach nearly $700 M in 2015.
