New Clinical Findings Coincide with the CE Approval and European Commercial Launch
of the Revolutionary New Prostate Imaging and Biopsy System
MILAN, Italy, Nov. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Exact Imaging (www.exactimaging.com), the world's leader in high resolution micro-ultrasound systems enabling real-time imaging and biopsy guidance of the prostate, will have its ExactVu™ micro-ultrasound featured prominently in both the clinical talks and the scientific posters at the 5th Meeting of the EAU Section of Urological Imaging (ESUI) in Milan, Italy. The ESUI, which brings together leading urological imagers from across Europe, is being held on November 24, 2016 at the MiCo – Milano Congressi in Milan, Italy and is addressing the theme of "imaging and shifting paradigms in urology".
"We are honored to have four separate sessions and posters discussing our ExactVu micro-ultrasound technology at such a prestigious gathering of leaders in urological imaging," says Randy AuCoin, Exact Imaging's President and CEO. "With our recently received CE approval, we are excited to be able to work with so many leading urology clinics and institutions that have expressed interest in acquiring our technology to address their targeted biopsy needs".
Exact Imaging's ExactVu micro-ultrasound technology is being profiled in 2 clinical talks:
- Dr. Jochen Walz, Chair of the ESUI and Head of Urology, Institut Paoli-Calmettes Cancer Centre, Marseille, France will speak on "High Frequency Micro-Ultrasound', (11:50 am - 12:00 pm)
- Dr. Sangeet Ghai, Director, Biopsy Centre and Lead GU Radiologist, Princess Margaret Cancer Center, Toronto, Canada will be presenting "Using patient screening data and machine learning algorithms to improve PRI-MUS™ accuracy with micro-ultrasound-based prostate biopsies", (2:30 - 2:40 pm)
In addition, recent clinical findings with the ExactVu micro-ultrasound are also being presented as scientific posters at ESUI:
- (EP166) Poster 1: "Micro-ultrasound of the prostate, PRI-MUS™ protocol guidance along with clinical variables: Combined approach for reducing unnecessary biopsies"
- (EP168) Poster 2: "Promising initial results of semi-automated quantitative-ultrasound-based algorithm for assessment of prostate cancer using a novel 29 MHz micro-ultrasound"
As the ExactVu micro-ultrasound has recently received CE marking (Certificate #649960) enabling sales of the system in Europe, it will also be on display in Booth #11 in the Exhibit Hall at ESUI.
About Exact Imaging:
Exact Imaging (www.exactimaging.com) is the world's leader in high-resolution micro-ultrasound systems enabling real-time imaging and guided biopsies in the urological market for prostate cancer. Exact Imaging's ExactVu™ micro-ultrasound platform operates at 29 MHz and enables a whole new level of resolution with the benefits of ease of use, affordability, and being an extension of the current urological workflow. Using the Exact Imaging platform, urologists will now be able to visualize areas of interest in the prostate and specifically target biopsies at those areas in addition to performing systematic, transrectal, ultrasound biopsy protocols. The ExactVu™ micro-ultrasound system has CE marking (Certificate #649960) for sale in the European Union. The product is not yet commercially available in the US and Canada. The company was founded in 2013 by Sam Ifergan (iGan Partners) and Randy AuCoin to develop and commercialize this novel high-resolution technology to disrupt the market and enable new levels of clinical imaging.
