FREMONT, Calif., April 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Exar Corporation (Nasdaq: EXAR) will demonstrate the recently announced BitWackr 2.2 deduplication solution during the Storage Networking World (SNW) spring event, April 4 – 7, 2011 in Santa Clara, California. The demonstration will show the ease of integrating and managing deduplication in primary storage appliances.
The Company will also demonstrate the Express DX 1845 data reduction and security card in a hardware versus CPU-based software comparison of Compression, Encryption and Hashing capabilities. The DX 1845 demonstration will highlight the performance advantages, flexibility, and power savings that OEMs building storage appliances can obtain by off-loading these functions in hardware.
Rounding out Exar's participation at SNW is the Company's storage specialist, Gene Nagle, co-delivering the SNIA Tutorial on Dedupe's Role in Disaster Recovery (DR) on Wednesday, April 6 at 2:10 p.m. Data deduplication can often be very helpful when applied to replication of data for disaster recovery projects, since deduplication significantly reduces the amount of bandwidth required to replicate data. This technical session will address the question of how deduplication fits into DR strategies, and what the various architectural choices available today are - for implementation.
Produced by Computerworld and co-owned by Computerworld and SNIA (The Storage Networking Industry Association), SNW features more than 120 educational sessions and presentations by top IT management experts covering today's hottest IT topics — from cloud computing to energy efficient data centers to virtualization to storage -- and so much more. SNW Spring will be held at the Santa Clara Convention Center in California, April 4 – 7, 2011. Registration information can be found at the event website.
