Executives from eBay and PVH Join GS1 US Board of Governors

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- GS1 US® has appointed Ron Knapp, vice president, structured data, eBay Inc., and Kevin Urban, executive vice president, logistics services, PVH Corp. to the GS1 US Board of Governors. The executives will help guide the organization's strategy for driving adoption and usage of GS1 Standards, with a particular focus on how standards support innovation amid unprecedented disruption and rapidly changing consumer expectations. GS1 Standards are used to uniquely identify products, services and locations globally, and are the most widely-used supply chain information standards in the world.

As vice president of structured data, Mr. Knapp is responsible for delivering the eBay catalog. He works with leadership across product, engineering and operations to establish direction and align with eBay's vision to provide consumers with a product-based shopping experience. Before joining eBay, Mr. Knapp was head of technology at Citi Fintech - a company he co-created with Citi bank and product leadership that became a mobile disruptor to traditional banking operations and included biometric authentication and other innovative features. He also held leadership roles at Amazon.com for 17 years, providing technical and product leadership across a variety of areas including design and delivery of the modern Amazon catalog, the launch of Amazon.cn and the creation of their product advertising platform, Sponsored Products. Mr. Knapp replaces outgoing Board member, Amit Menipaz, former vice president and general manager of Vertical Experiences and Platform, eBay Inc.

Mr. Urban is responsible for all domestic and international logistics operations as executive vice president, logistics services at PVH Corp., which manages a diversified portfolio of brands including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Speedo. He oversees import and domestic transportation, warehousing and distribution, and strategic services. Since joining PVH in 1997, Mr. Urban has held several leadership positions within the logistics organization including, vice president of logistics, director of warehousing and distribution, and facility manager. He has been instrumental in introducing innovative automation, technology and systems changes to improve the company's logistics capabilities.  Mr. Urban replaces outgoing Board member, Ken Duane, vice chairman and chief executive officer, Heritage Brands, PVH Corp.
