DANA POINT, Calif., Nov. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Pioneer video game developer Michael Cranford reenters the gaming arena with a role-playing game exclusively for the Amazon Alexa voice service. Cranford developed the hit game "The Bard's Tale" in the 80s, an interactive adventure in the early days of personal computers that set the stage for today's MMORPGs (massive multiplayer online role-playing games). Shadow Realm is the first in a series of products released by Days Fly, Inc., Cranford's application development company.

Approach to the Wizard of Ice and Shadow

Like Bard's Tale, Shadow Realm is a fantasy adventure where the user plays themselves in a world of magic, treasure, dragons, combat, and puzzles on their way to solving a great quest. The game is modeled on the rich storylines, adventure, interaction, and problem solving of his original games, but with a twist; the game is controlled using your voice, through one of Amazon's new devices.

Michael Cranford was a pioneer in the early years of video game development. The Bard's Tale (1985) set the stage for computer-based RPG development on a larger scale and introduced numerous original ideas to the genre.
