Express 4 Image Cytometry Is Compatible With PerkinElmer's Opera, Harmony and Columbus Software
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Express 4 Image Cytometry Software will be able to read data from PerkinElmer's Opera, and Operetta instruments as well as the Columbus database. FCS Express will be able to import images, segmentation and feature data from these platforms.
Leveraging a long history of excellence in Flow Cytometry data analysis, De Novo Software launched FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry in January of 2011. The new software adds the ability to access and interactively perform population-based analysis, while linking back to the individual images that underlie the data. This enables highlighting of individual cells in an image from selected populations or display of single cells of interest in separate cell galleries. These tools significantly improve assay development, workflow, and enable rapid report generation.
David Novo, De Novo Software's president, said: "Partnering with PerkinElmer gives FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry users the ability to access data from the sophisticated instrumentation the PerkinElmer provides. We are particularly excited about compatibility with PerkinElmer's Columbus database, which allows us to analyze image data derived from almost any instrument."
"Now that scientists can transfer data from PerkinElmer's Columbus, Opera and Operetta systems to De Novo's FCS Express 4 Image Cytometry software they are able to get mine these rich data sets more fully than ever before," says Dr. Martin Daffertshofer, Portfolio Director Scientific Imaging Software at PerkinElmer. "This enables scientists to use image cytometry and high content screening as complementary techniques in their workflow to classify cells. Initial customers who have used the tools together have been extremely enthusiastic about the new capabilities."
In FCS Express 4 analytical tools for flow and image cytometry and High Content Screening are combined into one environment with report generation and on-line collaboration tools.
De Novo Software and PerkinElmer have showcased these new capabilities with user applications during a webinar that can be found on the De Novo Software website and at the upcoming HCA 2013 meeting Image Analysis Technology Showcase. The collaboration will bring innovative and powerful tools to mutual customers.
