Extant Capital Secures $200 Million Cornerstone Investment from New Holland Capital and Will Begin Trading

• Firm hires Senior Portfolio Manager to support trading operations

NEW YORK, Aug. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Extant Capital ("Extant" or "the Firm"), an alternative asset manager focused on absolute return investing in credit markets, today announced it received a $200 million cornerstone investment from New Holland Capital, LLC ("New Holland") and will begin trading this month. The investment will provide Extant with trading capital to support its investment strategy, and New Holland will also provide strategic support as the Firm continues to scale its operations. As part of the agreement, New Holland has the ability to invest additional capital as the Firm grows.

Extant was founded in 2025 by Ryan Foster, who serves as CEO and CIO. Extant is a credit-focused absolute return fund dedicated to delivering strong, risk-adjusted returns through a disciplined, methodical investment approach. The firm leverages Mr. Foster's extensive expertise in credit markets to identify opportunities, while actively managing risks to protect investor capital.

Mr. Foster has over 17 years of experience managing credit‑based portfolios and strategic investments across public and private markets. Prior to founding Extant, he served as Senior Portfolio Manager for Torsion Capital LLC, a credit‑focused absolute return fund within Millennium, where he directed investment strategy, portfolio construction, and risk management. Prior to Millennium, Ryan spent nearly a decade at Soros Fund Management, progressing from credit trader to portfolio manager, where he managed performing credit portfolios and executed debt capital market strategies across investment‑grade, high‑yield, and private credit opportunities. Ryan earned a B.S. in Business Management from Boston College's Wallace E. Carroll School of Management.

In addition to the cornerstone investment, Extant has also announced the appointment of Peter Ellingboe as Senior Portfolio Manager, reporting to Mr. Foster. Mr. Ellingboe has over 15 years of experience across credit markets, spanning strategies from distressed debt to investment‑grade credit. Most recently, he was a Portfolio Manager at Walleye Capital, where he worked closely on the firm's central credit book. Prior to that, he spent six years at Verition as a Portfolio Manager and Senior Analyst focusing on multi‑strategy credit opportunities.
