F-Squared Names Paul Gamble to Lead Growing Retirement Business
Veteran retirement professional to provide F-Squared's downside risk management solutions to the defined contribution marketplace
NEWTON, Mass., July 11, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- F-Squared Investments, one of the fastest-growing investment management firms in the country, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Gamble as Managing Director, Head of F-Squared Retirement Solutions. Mr. Gamble will be joining F-Squared's Management Committee and will play a critical part in guiding the firm's overall strategy. He has over 20 years of experience in the retirement industry most recently serving as Executive Vice President of Distribution and Institutional Services at Financial Engines Inc., the largest managed account provider in the defined contribution industry.
As President of F-Squared Retirement Solutions, Mr. Gamble will be responsible for F-Squared's full suite of next generation investment solutions targeted towards the Defined Contribution and Retirement markets, including customized and private labeled target date strategies and funds, collective trust funds and sub-advisory partnerships in the retirement market. These strategies feature the very successful AlphaSector™ investment solutions which are designed to enhance target date and retirement strategies by meaningfully "de-risking" in dangerous or bear markets while significantly participating in normal markets.
"Paul's arrival at F-Squared reflects the culmination of a six month search to find an executive that can successfully deliver F-Squared's unique investment solutions into the Retirement marketplace," said Howard Present, F-Squared's President and CEO. "Our focus on downside risk management has translated into explosive growth in most other markets, and there is not a client segment that is more in need of downside protection than Plan Participants. Paul is going to change the paradigm there – for the better."
"I am excited to lead F-Squared's efforts in the retirement marketplace," Mr. Gamble said. "Plan sponsors and consultants increasingly recognize the limitations of conventional investment strategies and have been seeking to provide plan participants with a better experience. I joined F-Squared because we address that need with a full-market investment strategy – one that combines participation in rising markets with embedded risk management. As we continue building strong partnerships with firms and advisors committed to the retirement market, I look forward to providing innovative solutions that address both the needs of participants and the goals of plan fiduciaries."
Prior to joining F-Squared, Mr. Gamble spent 13 years at Financial Engines, where he was responsible for all sales and client facing functions, as well as the firm's top-line revenue goals. Before joining Financial Engines, he served as Vice President of Institutional Retirement Sales at Scudder Investments, as well as Vice President of Institutional Retirement Sales at Fidelity Investments. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Defined Contribution Institutional Investments Association (DCIIA) and is Vice Chair of the Research and Surveys Committee.
