FamilyFun Magazine Wins Two ASME Cover Awards

Editors and readers choose the magazine's August 2014 cover in American Society of Magazine Editors' cover contest

NEW YORK, May 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- FamilyFun magazine was named a winner – twice! — in the ninth annual American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) Best Cover Contest. FamilyFun's August 2014 issue cover took home both "Best Cover" and "Readers' Choice" in the Family and Home category — one of only two titles that won both a Readers' and Editors' choice award.

"For our August 2014 issue, we commissioned photographer Sabrina Helas to shoot a story on family road trips, and when her images came in, we knew we had a strong cover," said Ann Hallock, Editor-in-chief of FamilyFun magazine. More than 100 print magazines submitted 270 covers to compete in the ASME Award's 10 categories this year. The Best Cover Award winners were chosen by a judging group composed of leading editors, art directors and photography editors who chose three finalists, including the winner, in each category. The Readers' Choice Awards were determined by the most Facebook likes on each cover image.
