WASHINGTON, Dec. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA), a Senior Member on the House Appropriations Committee and lead Democrat on the Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science and related agencies, released the following statement on Walgreens' announcement that they will provide certain prescriptions to individuals enrolled in a new health insurance marketplace plan who have not yet received a plan identification number:
"I applaud the decision by Walgreens to offer a month of prescriptions at no upfront cost to customers who have enrolled in the public health insurance marketplace, but may not yet have received plan identification numbers. Tomorrow, as newly insured Americans across the country begin using their health benefits, Walgreens has stepped up to help ensure as seamless a transition as possible for their customers who need the certainty in knowing their medications will be covered.
