Faurecia raises the flag on a second manufacturing plant in Fraser, Michigan

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Faurecia celebrated its new Masonic plant, the company's second production facility in Fraser, Mich., today with a flag-raising ceremony attended by Gov. Rick Snyder and more than 100 employees and guests. The 160,000-square-foot Interior Systems plant, located just minutes away from its sister plant on 14 Mile Road, manufactures components for the instrument panel of the all-new 2013 Cadillac ATS. The plant also manufactures instrument panel and center console components for the Ford Focus, as well as other interior components for Chrysler and General Motors.

Located on Masonic Blvd. at Utica Road in Fraser, the Masonic plant employs 106 salaried and hourly personnel and is expected to reach full production levels before the end of this year. The facility will run three shifts. The building had been vacant for more than 18 months before Faurecia Interior Systems leased the structure in January, 2012.

The Masonic plant specializes in injection molding, thermoforming and in-mold graining processes to create 10 parts for the ATS interior module: a glove box, knee bolster, defroster grille, center console, front- and rear-door bolsters and two appliques.

Employees at the Masonic plant will adopt the Faurecia Excellence System (FES), which the company employs across all aspects of its operations worldwide, from research and development to production, sales and corporate functions in order to consistently deliver quality products on time for its customers. The FES actively involves employees at all levels of the organization and ensures that excellence and continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost and delivery are instilled in every stage of the development and manufacturing processes.
