FCB Earns Top International Information Security Certification

CHICAGO, Sept. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chicago office of FCB, an Interpublic Group creative agency, today announced that it has received International Standards Organization (ISO/IEC) 27001:2013 certification for information security from one of the world's leading ISO management systems registrars, National Quality Assurance (NQA).

This certification reaffirms FCB Chicago's commitment to continually improving and enhancing its data security practices based on a comprehensive Information Security Management System that meets internationally recognized standards of excellence.

FCB Chicago CEO and President Michael Fassnacht emphasized the certification's importance – for the agency and its clients – in today's data-driven world.

The Chicago office of FCB is the first agency within the FCB Network and currently the only agency within holding company Interpublic Group to hold this certification. In preparation for the ISO certification, the agency underwent "a year of meetings, discussion and significant documentation," said FCB Chicago Chief Financial and Technology Officer Mark Jungwirth. FCB Chicago successfully achieved certification after passing two rounds of internal and external audits. The agency also put a task force in place that will undergo formal ISO reviews annually going forward.

Jungwirth said the process, while rigorous, was worth it.

"In certain categories, such as insurance, finance and healthcare, it goes without saying that strict and careful adherence to information protection should guide and inform all that agencies do for their clients, but we anticipate this will become a critical issue for marketers across all industries," he said.
