Federated Investors, Inc. Names Senior Portfolio Manager to Federated Emerging Market Debt Fund

PITTSBURGH, May 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Federated Investors, Inc. (NYSE: FII), one of the nation's largest investment managers, today announced the appointment of veteran investment professional Ihab L. Salib as senior portfolio manager of Federated Emerging Market Debt Fund.  Salib serves as senior vice president, senior portfolio manager and head of the international fixed-income group at Federated where he manages a variety of global portfolios spanning all sectors of the international markets. He replaces Roberto Sanchez-Dahl and Paolo H. Valle, who are no longer with the company.  The announcement was made by Robert J. Ostrowski, chief investment officer for global fixed income.

Salib joined Federated's fixed-income team in 1999 and brings more than 20 years of investment experience to the position. He was named portfolio manager in 2002 and head of the international fixed-income group at the beginning of 2007.  Prior to joining Federated, he served as a senior global analyst for fixed-income and foreign-exchange securities for UBS Asset Management where he co-managed multi-currency global bond funds for large institutional clients.

Federated will continue to build its international fixed-income team by adding an additional portfolio manager and one or more analysts in the near future.
