FEI Announces Collaboration with The Mandt System
Train-the-Trainer crisis interaction program adds to comprehensive suite of resiliency services
MILWAUKEE, March 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FEI Behavioral Health, the leader in workforce resilience — from crisis management to EAP — announces its new collaboration with The Mandt System®, leading provider of relationship-based crisis interaction training programs to prevent workplace and relational violence since 1975.
FEI will now offer Mandt's train-the-trainer certifications and educational resources to complement its own crisis training and drills.
"The rigor and reliability of Mandt's training model, combined with FEI's comprehensive approach to crisis management and behavioral health, ensures the best possible solution for managing safety at organizations nationwide," said Ted Uczen, FEI's president and CEO.
FEI's international expertise in crisis management, as well as its extensive network of behavioral health providers, make it a natural fit to support and expand upon Mandt training. FEI also has a unique advantage through its adjunct faculty members, who are authorized to conduct trainings themselves. This gives customers a direct point of contact to access both Mandt's curriculum and FEI's larger spectrum of services.
The Mandt System
Mandt is the premiere provider of verbal and non-verbal crisis prevention training — an especially important skillset for organizations in education, healthcare, retail and other industries where confrontations may occur. The system provides tools to help frontline staff who may be involved in physical altercations manage themselves, recognize the early warning signs of potentially violent behavior, and intervene proactively through de-escalation techniques and positive behavior supports.
"Mandt's model focuses on relationships and on preventing dangerous situations through greater awareness," said Uczen. "It's in line with our approach to building lasting resiliency and delivers the greatest value to our customers."
Leaders in the resiliency spectrum
FEI has established itself as a market leader and go-to resource for all services within the workforce resiliency spectrum. Workforce resilience is a key factor in the safety, quality, productivity and morale of an organization. Mandt's training fits nicely with FEI's existing wrap-around services like crisis preparedness and disaster training, as well as post-incident EAP support.
"Our emphasis on workforce resilience is a great match with Mandt," explained Uczen. "By training individual employees to build their resilience through preparedness drills, we also foster business resilience for our customers, which in turn leads to community resilience."
The social enterprise difference
A social enterprise is a unique business model that creates synergy between for-profit and nonprofit organizations, where profits earned by a for-profit company are automatically reinvested into the community through the services of sister nonprofits. FEI's involvement with its parent organization, the Alliance for Children and Families, is one of the nation's most successful examples of the social enterprise model at work. In the last 35 years, FEI has provided more than $30 million to help fund services at its sister nonprofit organizations within the Alliance.
