FiberHome Selects Lantiq for LTE Broadband Gateway

MUNICH, NEUBIBERG, Germany and SHANGHAI, March 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Lantiq, a leading supplier of chips and software for broadband access and home networking, today announced that the information and telecommunications solution leader, FiberHome Technologies Group, selected Lantiq for its next generation LTE gateway. The new gateway is a high performance and cost effective fixed LTE broadband service solution for the China market.

The new FiberHome LTE gateway is powered by the field proven and widely deployed Lantiq GRX288 Broadband network processor. With market leading routing performance based on the Lantiq Direct LTE approach, the gateway's innovative design, engineering and cutting-edge features address what consumers and the market are expecting from 4G/LTE technologies.

The LTE Broadband Gateway market segment benefits heavily from the rapid growth of 4G deployment in China and globally, bringing high speed data access to homes where adequate wireline broadband service is not available.
