Fieldglass CEO Jai Shekhawat Receives the 2012 Peter Yessne Staffing Innovator Award for Pioneering the Vendor Management System (VMS) Industry
Shekhawat Recognized for Fieldglass' Contribution to the Staffing Industry via Technology Innovation
CHICAGO, March 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fieldglass, Inc., the leading technology provider to procure and manage contingent labor and services, today announced CEO Jai Shekhawat was honored with the 2012 Peter Yessne Staffing Innovator Award for his role in transforming the Vendor Management System (VMS) industry. The award was presented at Staffing Industry Analysts' Executive Forum yesterday.
In Staffing Industry Analysts' announcement, President Barry Asin recalls that "the growth and adoption of vendor management systems has been one of the most striking and enduring innovations in staffing over the past decade. Jai Shekhawat has been leading the cutting edge of that development."
Shekhawat was chosen out of nearly 100 highly-qualified nominees. Now in its third year, the award recognizes one individual across the $113 billion U.S. staffing industry for his/her contributions to the space. As one of the industry's longest-tenured CEOs, Shekhawat was one of the VMS industry's founders and has led Fieldglass to become the largest VMS provider today.
Many of Fieldglass' early key differentiators have gone from industry firsts to current industry standards. As one of the forerunners of the cloud delivery model, Fieldglass has been a Software-as-a-Service application since its inception. In addition, Fieldglass established and cultivated a core business practice of partnership and collaboration with large buyers of contingent labor and staffing firms.
"Throughout Fieldglass' history, we have stayed true to our company's focus on product innovation and culture of partnership across the staffing industry," said Jai Shekhawat. "VMS technology fundamentally changed the way the entire staffing ecosystem operates, and I am proud of Fieldglass' role in shaping how today's flexible workforce is procured and managed."
Today Fieldglass has more than 160 customers spanning nearly every industry. Customers manage a flexible workforce that includes contingent workers, services such as Statement of Work (SOW) projects, independent contractors and others in nearly 80 countries. With a strong focus on continuous product innovation and world-class, proactive customer support, the company's international presence includes offices in North America, Europe and Asia.
