DALLAS, Sept. 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Firehawk Aerospace ("Firehawk"), a defense technology leader specializing in advanced energetics and propulsion, has successfully completed the flight tests of an additively manufactured Javelin and Stinger-class Firehawk Analog systems, using 3D-printed propellant for the launch motors of each system. These tests are the final milestone of a Phase III SBIR contract with the Army Applications Laboratory (AAL) which also included a hybrid rocket engine system flight test earlier this year.
Firehawk's approach to additively manufactured solid propellant provides customers a safe and cost-effective alternative for tactical rocket motors that can be rapidly produced at scale.
"This final milestone demonstrates Firehawk's ability to 3D print propellant for a wide range of ordnance. We're addressing the Army's increasing demand for propellant with 21st century propulsion solutions as they ramp up missile production," states Will Edwards, CEO, Firehawk. "Our innovative in-house fabrication and engineering capabilities allow us to respond quickly with a cutting-edge solution to meet current and future mission needs."
The company previously announced a successful, inaugural flight test of an additively manufactured Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS) class Firehawk Analog (GFA), a 3D-printed hybrid rocket engine system. These flight tests prove Firehawk can produce tailored performance across multiple propulsion types to serve customers across the defense base.
