New executive role will strengthen product strategy and support the evolving needs of accounting firms
RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Firm360, the cohesive practice management platform for client-focused accounting firms, announced the appointment of Richard Calhoun as chief product officer (CPO). Calhoun will lead Firm360's product strategy and development to enhance its capabilities further and deliver greater value to accounting firms.
As Firm360's first CPO, Calhoun will work across teams to identify opportunities for innovation, enhance existing products and build best-in-class solutions that help accounting firms operate more efficiently, strengthen firms' financial health and create exceptional client experiences.
"Richard is a people-first leader. He understands that great products start with great teams, and his collaborative approach is exactly what we need as we continue to grow and evolve," said Patrick O'Neill, CEO of Firm360. "Establishing our first chief product officer role gives us greater focus and alignment around a long-term product strategy, ensuring that customer needs shape our priorities and investments in innovation. Richard will help us build on the strong foundation we've established and deliver even greater value to the accounting firms we serve."
Calhoun brings extensive experience leading product teams and developing software solutions that address complex business challenges. He previously held product leadership roles at OrgChart, Stratus and Projector PSA, where he led platform transformations, improved product adoption and retention, accelerated new product development and helped navigate periods of growth, investment and change. Throughout his career, Calhoun has focused on aligning product innovation with client needs and building solutions that support long-term business growth.
"What stood out to me immediately about Firm360 was the passion of its people and their commitment to our customers," Calhoun said. "There's a genuine willingness across teams to collaborate, tackle challenges and build true innovations that can benefit the firms we serve. Success leaves clues, and what I see at this organization gives me tremendous confidence in what's ahead."
Calhoun's appointment reinforces Firm360's commitment to building technology that helps accounting firm leaders run their businesses more effectively. It comes at a time when accounting firms are looking to AI to improve efficiency and productivity, yet many remain uncertain about their readiness to implement the technology.
Firm360's 2026 Firm Health and AI Readiness Report found that just 22% of firms feel extremely prepared to compete in an AI-driven environment. Meanwhile, 38% report losing four or more hours per person each week to manual tasks such as re-entering data, chasing approvals and reconciling disconnected systems. The burden is especially pronounced among larger firms, with 40% of firms employing 250 or more people losing at least seven hours per person weekly.
