EL PASO, Texas, Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In The United States District Court, First Texas Products, LLC has won a judgment against manufacturers and resellers of counterfeit metal detectors. In its July 31, 2018 order, the court rules that the counterfeiters "are permanently enjoined from manufacturing, importing, purchasing, distributing, selling, or offering for sale any counterfeit metal detector …"
"Guilty as charged," exclaimed Tim Mallory, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for First Texas. "Guilty in China, guilty in Africa and now guilty in the United States of America."
"We got 'em," said Tom Walsh, President of First Texas. "After chasing the Chinese counterfeiters and their criminal organizations around the globe and learning how certain foreign countries facilitate and inspire counterfeiting of our patents, copyrights, registered trademarks and registered trade names, we now enlist the weight of the U.S. legal system to stop them from conducting their criminal activities within our borders."
First Texas designs and manufactures metal detectors under the Bounty Hunter®, Teknetics® and Fisher Research Labs® brand names. Years ago, several Chinese factories began conspiring with criminal organizations in the Middle East to produce counterfeit gold prospecting detectors after witnessing the commercial success of First Texas brands in African gold fields. After stealing substantial amounts of First Texas intellectual property, the counterfeiters began selling counterfeit hobby metal detectors in many of First Texas' main markets, including in the United States and the European Union.
Permanently enjoined from selling their counterfeit products are Shanghai Tianxun Electronic Equipment Company, Ltd, Shanghai Zhangdu Electronic Commerce Co., Ltd d/b/a KingDetector, TheSellingPost.Biz, LLC and Costway.com.
