Races slated for Detroit, Lansing, and Grand Rapids
TROY, Mich., March 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Flagstar Bank has signed on as title sponsor of the first-ever Michigan Summer Race 13.1 Series. The half marathon, 10k, and 5k races are slated for June 18 in Lansing, July 22 in Detroit, and Aug. 12 in Grand Rapids.

Capstone Event Group produces half marathon, 10k, and 5k races in mid-size to large cities, providing runners big race perks with a local race feel. In 2016, the organization produced 20 events in 10 cities. The events provide certified courses, well stocked and staffed aid stations, and user-friendly logistics. Each Race 13.1 event partners with a local charity to raise awareness and funds for their cause.

The Flagstar Bank Race 13.1 Michigan Series will feature the best of what each host city has to offer. Race 13.1 will return for the second year to Belle Isle for the Detroit race; the Lansing course will be Hawk Island Park and downtown Lansing; and the Grand Rapids event will start downtown and include the Kent County trails. All courses are certified, and events feature staffed aid stations, live announcers, music, medals, and post-race festivities.
